The prestigious university of Calabar (Unical), is a place to be as it offers a good balance between academic work, social life and cultural development. However, the refusal by the school authorities to do a reform as it concerns the replacement of aged lecturers and redundant professors is a thing of concern. This is led to lazy students who do not take studies seriously as encouraged by inactive lecturing systems.

My opinion is that the university is currently undergoing a tremendous change under the recent vice chancellor. There is reduced corruption rate interms of examination malpractice.
My dislike is that student taking practical courses mostly are not provided the necessary tools for practicals

i have been a student for about 3 years already and it’s a good university. i enjoy the practical classes and the learning environment is very appropriate for us. i appreciate all the effort that has been put in to make unical a great school

“I love studying at the university of calabar. The academic standards are high, but the professors and examinations are fair. The university is very supportive, and I got all the help I needed as a student.

While living on-campus was fun, I feel the construction/renovation works should’ve been finished during the break. The noise was a bit too much at times. Overall, I recommend studying at the university of calabar.”

One of my favorite features about UNICAL is the gardens and the way it’s properly cut. Tho the mosquitoes can be torching but with the right clothes, you’re good to go. There is a very large car park for both students and lecturers. It’s really amazing for pictures too.

University of Calabar is not one of the best schools in the country but I’d argue they are good enough. The school club always excel in inter competitions. We have a body called ENACTUS we strive to better the country from our school and we’ve reached great heights and our voices have been heard. I particularly fear speaking in crowds but this school has helped me overcome that fear. The school helped a lot of us grow in different aspects

University of Calabar is an average school in terms of hospitality and learning.I’m also a student of the department of computer science, and I can say it not easy at all.waking up early going to gss classes, then going to my departmental classes.Lecturers here do take care of us.
