As a 4th year dental student at the University of Benin, Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria, I’m excited to share my perspective on the educational experience here.
My time at my university has been both challenging and rewarding, providing me with a solid foundation my future career as a dentist.
Academic Quality: The academic programs offered at my university are rigorous and well structured. I remembered when my dean announced to my year that there has been changes to our dental school curriculum and we were expected to take a major professional exam earlier than usual. I thought it wasn’t going to be possible. How can I learn so much in a short time?
But the faculty members were really supportive, often going above and beyond to ensure that we students grasp complex concepts in the most simple way possible.
The curriculum is designed is such a way that it’s both comprehend and engaging. And now that I’m done writing that major exam, I’m glad for the change. It was for my benefit.
Campus Life: The campus life is very vibrant and inclusive. There are numerous students organizations like Christian Medical and Dental Students Association, Junior Chamber International and others which I’m a member.
These students organizations cater to a wide range of interests. This diversity in extracurricular activities has allowed me to pursue my passions outside of the classroom and build a strong network of peers.
My overall experience at my university has been incredibly positive. I would highly recommend my university to prospective students looking for a comprehensive and enriching educational experience.
