Ekiti State University is known for being a citadel of excellence, so studying there was a amazing experience. We had some of the best English lecturers teach is the rudiments of English and Education. The rich learning experience has helped and is still helping me navigate my career even years after graduation.

However, the grading system was not favourable enough as the school portal frequently crashed causing many students to record inaccurate scores.

Ekiti State University has really carved a unique place for itself among Nigerian universities. What stands out most is its remarkable rise in academic ranking – being named the best state university in Nigeria and 12th overall nationally in 2025. That shows both credibility and growth.

Ekiti State University is a reputable institution located in Ado-Ekiti, known for its commitment to academic excellence and intellectual development. The university offers a wide range of programs across various faculties, with dedicated lecturers and a relatively strong academic structure. The campus environment is lively, with opportunities for student growth both inside and outside the classroom.

While like many public institutions in Nigeria, EKSU faces some challenges such as infrastructural needs and administrative delays, the resilience of its staff and students is commendable. My experience at EKSU shaped my discipline, broadened my knowledge, and helped build lasting relationships. Overall, it is a university that continues to grow and impact lives positively.

While the academic experience is generally positive because lecturers like Dr Akinrinmade was a very exceptional Physiology lecturer, it’s not without its challenges. The frequent strikes that plague the Nigerian education system can disrupt the academic calendar and cause delays in graduation. Despite these challenges, Ekiti State University remains a beacon of hope for many aspiring scholars. The university’s commitment to academic excellence and its vibrant campus life make it an attractive destination for students seeking a quality education.

Eksu is like every other universities if you are focused on what you want to do, you will archive it, the classroom are quite conducive and learning friendly, the lectures are always ready to impact knowledge.

Ekiti State University is a good place to be, because of the numerous educational benefits attached. Just like any institution, there are challenges. The cost of tuition can be high, and the course load can be demanding, especially for certain majors.

Additionally, there is no nothing like electricity at Ekiti State University, it is recorded that for the past 7 years, the students have been studying in the dark.
