My journey at Afe Babalola University (ABUAD) has been a truly defining experience, both academically and personally. As a student, I have not only focused on excelling in my studies but have also taken on active leadership roles that have shaped me into a more responsible, organized, and people-oriented individual. Serving as the Course Representative of my class and taking part in student campaigns such as the Assistant General Secretary and Student Representative Council (SRC) has helped me develop skills in communication, coordination, and problem-solving. These roles taught me how to listen to the concerns of my peers, represent them effectively, and ensure that information and activities within the department were properly organized and executed.
One of the aspects I truly value about ABUAD is its structured environment and the emphasis on quality education. The school has a strong reputation for discipline and innovation, which motivates me to keep striving for excellence. The university also places importance on student involvement, giving us the opportunity to grow beyond academics and build leadership qualities that prepare us for the future.
What I like most about Afe Babalola University is the culture of excellence and integrity. The institution is not just about acquiring knowledge; it is about shaping leaders who can make meaningful contributions to society. The serene learning environment, supportive lecturers, and well-organized system have made my experience here rewarding.
Overall, my participation and leadership journey at ABUAD have made me more confident and committed to service. It is an experience that has molded me into a better leader, a better student, and ultimately, a better person.
View moreI think it’s a good school in terms of standards and the doors it opens just by being an alumni. Unfortunately, there can be rules that don’t sit right with you especially being an adult and being treated like a child. Other than that, I think it’s good with good extra curricular activities
View moreWhat I like about my program is that it deals with the lives of people which requires so many activities and energy and I prefer that than to sit in a place for a long time. Classes in my college are flexible and it starts around 8:00 am and end between 3:00-5:00 pm depending on the number of courses you are offering and we are given 1hour break. Teachers here are well qualified and most of them are PhD and master’s degree holders. Most of my teachers use their experience to teach based on what they have done before. My school is a conducive environment for learning, it has good and tight security. It has good facilities to help facilitate learning such as good WiFi, water, and electricity which are made available. What I don’t like about the school is that we don’t have much freedom. We are not allowed to go out of school except for specific reasons, curfew starts by 9:30 pm and we are not allowed to live on off-campus grounds, so it is more of a boarding school situation. The school needs to improve on reducing the cost of items purchased and I also think that the school should focus more on hostel renovations and reducing the cost of tuition.
Student life is good with social gatherings such as picnics, parties, concerts, and movie nights which are organised by the student representative council to not only focus on school work but life outside academics. I would recommend the school to people because it has the best facilities to aid learning. In my opinion, the school is international. People come from different parts of the world (such as India, Ghana, China, United Kingdom)to enrol and study.
Nursing is a very fulfilling career choice because it is well compensated when it comes to job options, work experience, further study and skills in the health sector. Although it may look stressful it is worth it in the end.
My experience in this school was good. I was able to make new friends every school year, I got to try new food and learn about different cultures.
