Elwin, just curious, did you complete or not? I absolutely agree with you. There\’s such a difference between being an educator and being a gatekeeper, and the \’tutors\’ at the Open Poly definitely don\’t seem suited to teaching – even if they are working in the field. I\’m currently struggling through the final paper, which really no student should have to do if a course is well-designed, right? I feel like I\’m being expected to have engineering knowledge, which I don\’t of course. I was the same as you – really interested in designing buildings, but nil CAD experience. I\’m much more confident with CAD now (although that\’s made me run 6 months late so far with postponing papers until I had the skill level to complete assignments and having to learn CAD at the same time as trying to meet the commitments of other papers), but I just feel that it\’s not actually me or my CAD skills anymore that are the real issue. It\’s quite literally that the assignments have nothing to do with anything we\’ve actually ever been taught!? I would never recommend this course to anyone, ever.
