As a fresh graduate of the BA (Hons) Media Arts program at the University of Mauritius, I can confidently say that my experience has been transformative. The program’s blend of theory and hands-on learning in areas like animation, cinematography, and graphic design prepared me well for the demands of the creative industry. The lecturers were knowledgeable and approachable, often going the extra mile to ensure we understood complex concepts. I particularly appreciated the emphasis on real-world applications, such as creating pitches and developing multimedia projects, which made the coursework engaging and relevant.
However, there were challenges. Some resources, like lab equipment and software, felt outdated compared to industry standards. Administrative inefficiencies occasionally caused delays in project approvals and scheduling. I would recommend this program to anyone passionate about media and arts who values both academic rigor and creative freedom.
