Studying at the University of Mauritius was a rewarding experience, although it had its challenges. The campus, nestled in the lush area of Réduit, provided a peaceful learning environment, but infrastructure often lagged behind. Class sizes were large, which sometimes made it hard to engage directly with lecturers. However, I appreciated how approachable and helpful most of the academic staff were. The diversity of students, coming from different regions of the island and even abroad, enriched the campus culture. One downside was the slow bureaucratic processes—administrative tasks like registration and getting results were often delayed. Despite these setbacks, I gained valuable knowledge, particularly through hands-on projects and internships that connected us to local industries. Social life was vibrant, with numerous student-led clubs and societies. While the university could improve in some areas, the experience shaped me positively both personally and professionally.
