I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Kaunas University of Technology. The diverse and engaging curriculum provided a solid foundation in my field, and the supportive faculty fostered a positive learning environment. The campus facilities were modern, and the international community added a valuable cultural dimension to my studies. Overall, KTU offered a well-rounded education and a memorable university journey

Great university for someone who wants to study technical subjects. The university has all the facilities that one would need in order to compete with the best technical universities. Also it is part of the Erasmus so you can easily get exposure of other European universities

Thanks to KTU’s strong industry connections, graduates have ample job opportunities readily available. Furthermore, the university offers a flexible course schedule that allows students to balance their academic pursuits, including master’s studies, with employment.

Kaunas University of Technology has many academic and extracurricular clubs and activities where one can grow personally and meet new people. These opportunities are great for someone wanting to start a career in an international setting.

In my opinion the University strength is the supporting faculty, research output, rigorous academics and strong industry relevance. Teaching quality is literally high. Collaborative projects, modern resources and career guidance.

Most of the teachers are quite friendly and talkative, but some of them struggle to speak English. The system itself is quite strict and not very easy, but retakes and course prices are not very high. The course provides much needed information and practice for students studying in different study programs. Exact and IT sciences are particularly good, they are quite sure to secure a job after graduation.

Overall, the university is satisfactory. It does not match the standards of top EU institutions, but it is also not substandard compared to many universities in the subcontinent. My Master’s program was acceptable, though not outstanding. Career opportunities and structured skill development were limited, and much of the learning depended on personal initiative.
The PhD experience differs significantly, as it depends largely on the supervisor and research project. In my case, I have had supportive supervision and reasonably good conditions. However, the scale of experiments and laboratory infrastructure still falls short compared to leading EU universities.
I am satisfied overall, but not exceptionally impressed. I would recommend aiming for top-tier universities first and considering this as a secondary option, as it remains better than many other institutions in the EU.

I had a great time studying at KTU. The professors are extremely cooperative and eager to help.

My only complaint would be the competence of my peers. They cause the standards to lower to alarming levels. The educators spend all of their time repeating information to students who never learn, instead of focusing on the individuals that actually make an effort.

In the course that I took, 60% of the students should have failed from the first year. The only reason these people that do not know basic maths passed in an engineering course is because of the lecturer’s leniency. During tests, the lecturers would not give that much attention to cheating. Even if someone would be caught cheating, there have been cases where they were allowed to just finish the test. The worst thing they would have to do is they would have to retake the test. Other than that, lovely university.

When I first came across my program I was enthralled to say the least. I was ecstatic by the different imaginings of what I was to study. Unfortunately this far it hasn’t been exactly what I pictured. Which is normal I believe. But however I would like it to be a bit more detail. I major in engineering, specifically Mechatronics Engineering and unfortunately this far we haven’t gone into the depths of engineering my peers at other universities have. The testing system feels weak or a bit too easy for lack of a better word. Most teachers are not as fluent or confident in English as they should be. But there are some real gems of Professors who will guide, and nurture you completely and I’m grateful to have encountered them. I’m grateful for a mixed class ie. Both Lithuanians and Internationals as we exchange cultures and it helped me settle down immensely. Finding communities on organisations like the one I joined, AIESEC KTU, also was a step in establishing me as a person. The library has become my favorite space and I truly believe KTU gives you all the best tools they can, but you have to learn to make the masterpiece, sometimes by yourself. The dormitories are another story. But it’s refreshing that they have began to seriously renovate them.
