Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) is one of the top universities in Kenya that has existed since 1981. Located in Juja, about 40 km from Nairobi, the university has students from all over the country and beyond the borders. JKUAT offers a variety of courses in many disciplines, ranging from agriculture and engineering to media, business, law, and more. The campus is spacious, modern, and well-maintained.
Studying at Jkuat was an incredible experience. The university has a vibrant and diverse student population, with students from all over the world. The professors are passionate about teaching and research and have a wealth of knowledge and experience. The classes were challenging, but I learned much about my chosen field. The main campus has well-equipped libraries, sports facilities, places to eat, laboratories, and computer centres, providing students with various learning and research opportunities. The university also offers various extracurricular activities, from student clubs and societies to cultural events. The location of the university is perfect. It is close to Nairobi so I could explore the city and surrounding areas during my free time. The cost of living in the area is also quite affordable.
I highly recommend Jkuat to anyone interested in pursuing a degree in Genomic Science or any other engineering and agriculture course. The faculty, staff, and students are friendly and welcoming, and the university provides a great learning environment.
