At Astana IT University, the sense of community is palpable. From the moment I stepped onto campus, I felt welcomed by both faculty and fellow students. The university hosts numerous events, such as hackathons and innovation fairs, which not only showcase student talent but also foster a spirit of camaraderie. One of my favorite experiences was participating in a weekend coding marathon, where I met students from diverse backgrounds and learned so much from their perspectives.
On the downside, the university’s focus on technology can sometimes overshadow other important aspects of student life. For instance, while there are clubs and organizations, they often revolve around tech-related themes, leaving little room for those interested in arts or humanities. Additionally, the campus can feel isolated at times, especially for international students who may struggle to find a sense of belonging.
