The University of Jordan is the oldest university in the The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. It was founded in 1962, making it the first university in the country, and that holds a lot of weight for the people. We like to pretend that we love it for the culture and history, and are not at all affected by the low/nonexistent maintenance. Surely, we don’t want new, shiny buildings like other universities in Jordan. We’re content with the aged stone and unpaved roads walked by many of our grandfathers, right? Truth is, yes. We are more than happy here because you can simply feel the stories of past students all around you. It’s history, and you don’t erase valuable history. So if you like glamour and a modern style, UoJ is not for you. However, if you want an all immersing studying experience, you’re more than welcome here.
