Are you passionate about the business and finance sector? Do you follow the national and international news? Then, an Economics degree is the answer. It has always been one of the most sought-after degrees amongst youth.
Economics degrees are designed to tackle all the issues that have an impact on financial situations, ranging from production to how resources are used. Candidates are trained to understand how the economy suffers fluctuations based on the market’s needs and wants followed by the market’s supply and demand.
By far one of the most crucial elements is that economics is divided into microeconomics and macroeconomic. Microeconomics deals with the economic behaviour at an individual level (companies, buyers, sellers and others), whilst macroeconomics illustrates the bigger picture, on a national or global scale (unemployment, economic growth, inflation and so on).
Having an economics degree increases anyone’s chances to find a job, regardless of the field. This is mainly due to the fact that graduates hold many transferable abilities, such as analytical and problem-solving skills, that are suitable for any career.
A study made by the London School of Economics and Political Science showed that graduates from an economics course have a starting salary of £33,000 per year. Having a job in the field right after graduation is a major positive aspect and comes with a lot of opportunities for career advancement.
Economics degrees are usually a three years commitment and sometimes are offered as part of a joint degree. This means that Economics can be studied along with another subject such as engineering, management, law, computer science and others.
This degree can be found either as a Bachelor of Science (BSc) or Bachelor of Arts (BA). The BSc focuses more on economical theory and statistical techniques, while BA is combined with social sciences and qualitative modules.
Ca’ Foscari University has given me a lot, both from an academic point of view and relationship one. I have had lots of incitements always to do my best and to never give up. I think it is one of the best public university in Italy and I highly recommend it, it is absolutely impossible not to like it.
View moreI love my programme, the professors are great and very helpful. Ca’foscari has the best economics programme in Italy, so I would highly recommend applying. The TAs are also really great, they will explain anything you didn’t understand in your lectures and of course you could always schedule office hours with the professor which I’ve always found helpful
View moreMy university has a strong focus on its students. It accompanies them on their journey and helps them grow. It offers an infinite number of opportunities for growth, job opportunities and leisure, and also takes care of sustainability and the environment. Its teachers are very qualified people and know how to make students hang on to what they study.
View moreAs a foreign, non-European student, Ca’Foscari opened up my worldview through education. Excellence and tradition are the factors that have most enchanted me since I started my studies. It inspires me to want to continue studying to want to make my career here
View moreMy master’s program – Economics and Management of Arts and Cultural Activities, being taught in Venice, provides me with so many opportunities to apply my knowledge
All the professors are inspiring professionals, who love what they do and teach, the program is very diversified and anyone can choose their main interest and go into deeper research in it
It is truly multidisciplinary with strong economics/management base but also amazing humanistic/art courses
Most of the university campuses are within walking distance from one another which is very convenient
Venice is an amazing place for students with a very big and supportive community of students from all over the world and the city provides so many experiences beyong academic ones – which I will remember it for my whole life
Thanks to my 5-year academic experience at Ca’ Foscari University, I had the chance to pursue an Erasmus+ scholarship to study in Norway (at NTNU, Trondheim) for one year. The knowledge acquired while studying in Venice, enriched me with both soft and hard skills that allowed me to study in a completely different country and context. Professors are prepared, reliable and available most of the time. My Master’s thesis coordinator, constantly helped me throughout the entire writing process and he always maintained a steady communication between him and I. Moreover, there are a lot of university clubs which anyone can join: I personally joined Marketers Club as Partnership Specialist, which is based on Marketing and the digital world. It gave me the opportunity to interface myself with real-world companies and to cooperate in the organization of internal events. After these five years at Ca’ Foscari, it was easy for me to find a job that I like in a really nice and competitive company. I am really happy and satisfied with what this university has offered to me and I would do it again and again!
View moreThe course in Economics and Finance I attended has been better then what I’ve expected. Courses are held also in English. Professors are prepared and the University offers an important network of international opportunities.____I would definitely recommend my course to a friend of mine.
View moreChoosing this school for my bachelor’s degree was not a difficult choice to make because the school is renowned for its achievements in the economic department coupled with its hospitality to international students.
One little factor that could be improved in the school is the provision of study guides and past questions that can help students study better. I noticed in my first year that most of the professors did not provide enough questions to answer and study with and it was visible in the average results at the end of the term.
I really recommend it. It is driven by international students and the quality of education is excellent.
Moreover, the university is connected to many universities abroad and this will permit you to broaden your future perspectives.
Since the open day of the master I got poor orientation regarding the content’s subjects and career opportunities. This course has too many programs such as Marketing, Economics, statistic, Math, Design and control of touristic activities, Business and innovation, English and much more: simply too many subjects and insufficiently in-depth and inconsistent. You just realize it when it’s time to propose your candidature you do not have the right skills they say you would get acquired at the end of the course.
