I enjoyed studying in Ferrara because I met many people with whom I am still in contact. the environment was open and stimulating .. perhaps little career possibility. now I’m looking around and I’m doing something else
View moremy faculty is new so many courses are a test. I don’t have references from older students because everything is new. there is no definite direction and future work because you study everything and little, so everyone chooses where to go according to the internship
View moreThe university in general is good, but my course, in particular, was not what I expected and not what was described. It would be more practice, but it was only theory. A lot of professors were not so prepared and, worst, they were not professional and free for their students. So many problems with them caused a lot of difficulties and a bad final result.
View moreSo far I enjoyed my Master’s Degree program, due to the fact that it deals with environmental and social issues, always from an economical point of view. Although I appreciate most of the subject, I perceive that there is a lack of subjects that perhaps can be useful in order to find a related job after the conclusion of the studies. These subjects may be e.g. something related to energy or water management, because of the fact that this kind of manager is much requested on the job market. I also think it is a course directed too much towards paper writing, perhaps in preparation for a doctorate. However, most subjects are really interesting and well explained, thanks, especially to the Professors. For instance, I found really illuminant the course that I have attended at the beginning of my Master’s Degree: environmental economics and policy. It deals with both public and private matters, taking into account always sustainability processes and issues.
View moreI completed a bachelor’s degree in Business and Administration. The university is well located in the heart of the city. The infrastructure is well organized with big classes. There are numerous studying buildings. As for the lectures, it provides a wide range of subjects with some good teachers that are friendly and open to help also after classes. There is a mentoring system that helps students that has difficulties in subjects such as math, accounting etc. The only weakness( as per the entire Italian system) is the lack of projects, the system is mostly theory and would be better if they catch up with the rest of Eu and provide practical cases. The University should be more active in helping students find internships.
View moreMy experience at the University of Ferrara is generally good, the archeology course is well structured, the teachers are competent and available and there is the possibility of participating in various projects and workshops. There is also a good possibility of studying abroad through the large number of affiliated universities. I recommend this university and the city, it is student-friendly and not very dispersed.
View moreI attend the Faculty of Educational Sciences. The well-structured course presents a very wide choice of subjects that allows students to prepare to approach the working world in the best way; is a course that focuses heavily on the practicality of concepts. The teachers are very prepared and helpful. The city is also very welcoming, on a human scale, perfect for university life as it offers many possibilities for recreation and adventures. It is a city that knows how to put culture and fun together, in short, as a student you will not be bored!
View moreThe University of Ferrara is one of the oldest in Italy and boasts professionalism and offers its students excellent preparation in many areas.
Personally, I have studied Nursing Sciences and Techniques, a course that certainly trains you fully, but which lacks organization with regard to the times of the lessons and the exams themselves, which often overlap and therefore do not allow students to prepare in the most appropriate way. In addition, the study load is very demanding and between training (compulsory), lessons and exams it is difficult to have time for anything else.
One aspect that is certainly very positive is the possibility that the university gives economically disadvantaged students the right not to pay taxes and to obtain a scholarship that allows them to continue their studies. In addition, it makes available many libraries, study rooms, assistance from the student secretariat, which has always proved to be prepared and helpful.
Ferrara is not exactly the most exciting city in which to study, but it is a very beautiful historical city and the food is fantastic!
Overall, this is a very good university center, with qualified teachers and innovative and cutting-edge research and experimentation proposals. I would definitely recommend it.
