I expected a world-class level of education with the school fees amount. However, I was met by speedy courses and a lack of depth in the curriculum. When I enrolled in this university, I had high hopes for the quality of education I would receive. The hefty fees I paid further reinforced my expectations for a top-notch learning experience. Unfortunately, my experience fell short of these expectations.
The curriculum seemed rushed, with an emphasis on completing the material quickly rather than ensuring a deep understanding of the subject matter. I had expected a world-class level of education based on the school fees I paid. However, the reality was far from what I had envisioned. The speedy courses, lack of depth in the curriculum, and limited access to resources were major drawbacks to my learning experience.

The University of Rome tor Vergata is a great and relevantly young University, which is becoming each academic year stronger and more valuable. I graduated from the Global Governance bachelor’s degree in English which presented a very interdisciplinary, interconnected and international programme to its students. It is focused on the great challenges and relevant matters of nowadays’ world, which shape a strong basis for the next generations of workers and leaders of the upcoming years.

The university was nice, with nice buildings and teachers. I loved the semester I spent in Rome as an Erasmus. Therefore, there are some problems I need to highlight in order to give an honest review. The location of the university is one of them. It is very far from the centre of Rome and it takes some time to get there. Combined with the chaotic schedules of the buses, you must leave your house earlier than you normally would. Finally, the lack of communication between the administration or the teachers and the students is, for me, the biggest issue of Tor Vergata. I received really few emails about the organization of the semester or the exams.

It might be too soon to speak about my program since I’m just in my second semester, but so far I am loving it. There are still a few things I would love to see improved since the program is fairly new (only 8 years) and still needs a lot of improvement also because it’s very different from your average bachelor in Italy. The main characteristic I’d say that involves Global governance is the feeling of solidarity and friendship and constant learning. Our director says that mistakes are very important and it’s vital to learn from them. We constantly have conferences on feedback about topics revolving around our major, like teachers, classes, schedule etc, and we tend to communicate all of our concerns and inconveniences. That’s what I love about it, and all of my classmates have a similar point of view on life, and mainly share the same ideologies, which is great, and I’m convinced that I wouldn’t have met my friends from uni in any other major

The university is young and open. The staff is friendly and supportive. The economic program is designed comprehensively, however, the program does not suit the students who expect to learn specific courses in detail.
