Unibz is one of the most underrated universities in Italy. The course offering is highly competitive, with classes taught in Italian, German, and English. I study Informatics and Management of Digital Business, a program that’s quite rare in Italy.

The infrastructure is modern and well maintained, especially at the NOI Techpark, which provides an inspiring environment for students. There are plenty of opportunities to connect with local employers through mandatory internships, career fairs, and job speed dating events.

Classes are engaging and combine lectures with practical labs. With no more than 30 students per class, you really get to know the lecturers and can easily ask questions. The international atmosphere is another highlight: while most students come from Italy and the DACH region, unibz hosts many Erasmus students each year, and we also have access to numerous funded mobility opportunities abroad.

The student societies and unions are very active and organize events throughout the year, which really helps build a sense of community.

The only downside is housing in Bolzano, which can be expensive and hard to find. If you’re eligible, apply for student housing: it’s much cheaper and a great way to meet new people. Otherwise, be prepared to raise your budget and stay patient during the search.

My university offers a wide range of high-quality workshops that truly enhance the learning experience. The sessions are well-organized, engaging, and led by knowledgeable instructors. It’s a great environment for developing new skills and exploring different fields beyond the traditional classroom setting.

I study in the Business Informatics faculty with a focus on the business and marketing side.

The course content is complete and mostly well taught, and I especially appreciate the real-life projects and practical assignments because they really help connect theory to actual situations.

One challenge, though, is the trilingual structure of the program, which made it more demanding than expected at times.

Still, I would recommend it, especially for those looking for a strong combination of IT and business skills.

I study in the Bachelor in Informatics and Management of Digital Companies at the Free University of Bolzano, and overall, it matches my expectations. The program combines computer science with business subjects in a relevant and practical way, especially through projects and interdisciplinary courses.

What I appreciate most was the trilingual environment, with courses offered in Italian, German, and English, which not only challenges me but also gave me a valuable skill set for international work environments. Also, the small class sizes helped create a more interactive and engaging learning experience.

I would recommend this course to anyone looking for a foundations in both tech and business, especially if you’re interested in studying in a multicultural context and gaining language skills along the way.
