As a doctorate student, my journey at the University of Tehran has been profoundly enriching. I remember my first semester vividly—overwhelmed by the scale and diversity of the campus. Joining various student organizations like the Sociology Club was pivotal; it offered a sense of belonging and a platform for activism. The discussions and debates here are intellectually stimulating and often extend beyond the classroom into lively coffee shop debates. Yet, the pressure of balancing academic expectations with social engagements is intense. The camaraderie I’ve built with peers has been invaluable, but it’s a constant juggle between maintaining social connections and academic excellence.
