Bogor Agricultural Institute (English name: IPB University, previously Bogor Agricultural University. This is a State University located in Bogor, West Java. IPB was originally an agricultural faculty at the University of Indonesia. However, on September 1 1963, IPB separated from the University of Indonesia and became an agricultural institute. On November 7 2017, the Bogor Agricultural Institute (IPB) officially received accreditation status with a rating of A (very good) based on the results of the plenary meeting of the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT). Based on the assessment results of the Business Innovation Center – Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia, IPB is the university in Indonesia that has carried out the most innovations in the Most Prospective Indonesian Innovations (39.71 percent) for ten consecutive years (2008-2018). . This is related to IPB’s success in producing innovations of national and international quality. In 2020, IPB succeeded in getting 1st place in the best campus in Indonesia according to the Ministry of Education and Culture.
Before it was inaugurated in 1963, IPB was an agricultural faculty at the University of Indonesia. On September 1, 1963.[4] Indonesia’s First President, Ir. Soekarno, laid the first stone for campus construction and also marked the inauguration of the Bogor Agricultural Institute as an independent higher education institution.
