SRM Institute of Science and Technology was formerly known as SRM University. The institute is one of the leading universities in India. Since its foundation in 1985, it has become a renowned higher education institution, popular with local and international students. Speaking of- the university has a large student population: over 38,000 students are enrolled in programmes at the school. The academic staff are highly qualified professionals and experts in their fields of knowledge. 2,600 faculty members are on site, eager to support students and give guidance when needed. The campus is modern and offers an excellent academic environment. Diversity and internationalization are part of student life at SRM. The higher education establishment offers a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes in Engineering, Management, Medicine and Health Sciences, as well as Science and Humanities. The lecturers are highly qualified and eager to provide an interactive and dynamic lesson. SRM Institute of Science and Technology has ties with numerous academic partners throughout the world. The innovative teaching approach, is what makes SRM special- the curriculum, the exciting research, as well as the international connections, are advantages that students get when they decide to follow a degree programme at this outstanding university. The campus hosts state-of-the-art facilities with modern technologies, in order to best train its students for their high level future careers in global companies. 80% of students are from outside of India, many coming from Europe, China and other countries. Students are encouraged to take part in the semester abroad programme. On average, more than 150 students are sponsored to go to top foreign universities such as MIT, Carnegie Mellon, UC Davies, Warwich and Western Australia, just to name a few… SRM holds accreditation by NAAC (grade A). SRM is also placed in A category by MHRD, too.
I don’t like the campus life at SRM at all. Faculty is also too biased in giving marks. Real talent is discouraged there and only the students who have better network and connections with the teachers get their marks, internships and even placements too.
View moreOne of the top private college with most opportunities than any student can want. great companies come for placement, awesome research.
But Chennai is not for everyone, not fun, heat and fear for people coming out of south India
The campus itself is best , the major problem there is lot of North Indian vs South Indian things , people hate North Indian people here and the professors also do the same . Overall in terms of academics the uni is really great . And campus life is also really good
View moreThis university had decent faculty and a good campus life. What can be improved is to provide more practical classes with supporting infrastructure, reduce the fee, more knowledgeable professors & more facilities inside the campus.
