Student review [#32670] for Mechanical Engineering
at National Institute of Technology Srinagar

I’m currently in my 3rd Year. I’ve got lot of friends in 4th year so I know a bit about placements and all. Placement scenario is good particularly if you’re from CSE/IT. Average package is around 15-16 lakh for general category CSE/IT. If you’re a good student who is willing to put extra efforts while enjoying the college and the Kashmir, you’re good to go. However, if you’re from Non IT Branch then things might get a little depressing for you. As placements in these branches is poor to Avg. What you can do is, you can prepare for other exams like UPSC, Govt exams or foreign Studies. I won’t recommend preparing for GATE, as I personally believe unless you’re deep interested in studies and your branch, you should not go for GATE exams. Another thing that i find best is get to get in contact with CSE/IT prof and make friends in those branches then start coding (this is something that I’m personally doing, I’m from mechanical branch). Look I’m quite sure that at least I’ll get a job or 6LPA so I’m only working to increase my LPA. Some ofbmy friends from 4th year who aren’t much of a hard working people have also secured jobs for around 6 LPA. So yea i believe it is overall a good place to study. Thanks.
