The faculty and university is good. But, if you an’t to take admission in french department then take admission only if you have a keen interest in literature and history. Because this department specialises in those domains. But, if you want to explore other practical applications of language such as linguistics and translation. In that case, considering other universities is a better option. Because literature is very heavy and everybody does not has the capacity to handle all of that.

Special programs include classical music, cultural studies, entrepreneurship incubation, and even niche subjects like numismatics and temple management.

I studied zoology at Mumbai University and found the course to be a mix of strengths and areas for improvement. The syllabus was quite detailed, covering everything from animal physiology to ecology, but sometimes felt outdated and in need of more modern research references. The professors were knowledgeable and approachable, especially during practical sessions, which were the most engaging part of the course. Lab facilities were decent, though equipment was sometimes limited, leading to delays during experiments. What I really appreciated was the way certain professors encouraged us to think critically rather than just memorize. The campus life added a nice balance to academics, with events and clubs offering opportunities to network and relax. However, the administrative processes, like exam form submissions and timetable changes, could be frustrating due to delays. Overall, the course gave me a strong foundation in zoology, but I feel it could be even better with updated teaching materials and smoother organization.

Studying at Mumbai University gave me a strong academic foundation, especially through professors who were knowledgeable and supportive. The classes were theory-heavy but insightful, and proactive students could find great opportunities for research and internships. What stood out most was the vibrant campus life—festivals, student committees, and cultural events added so much value beyond textbooks.

However, some facilities and administrative processes can feel outdated, and you need to be self-driven to make the most of the resources. If you’re willing to take initiative and network, Mumbai University can be a rewarding place to grow both academically and personally.
