I’d like the program, especially catering because we studied many useful and interesting things. Things I didn’t like: the organization of the school because every time when I had a problem it was difficult to find a solution. About the student life: I had many events and parties in my first year but after that… not really. So I can say that student life is not the best if you live in an apartment instead of college.
View moreIn general, I would say this school has a lack of communication with its employees. Both with student consultants and teachers so they have a lack of information in several important questions. In that case, if we have information and we know everything we need to then the bürocratic system of the school makes it harder to get what we desire within the foreseeable future. If we need to hand in any type of request we have to pay big enough amounts and this doesn’t even ensure we get the answer we would like. There is no refund.
Another important negative is that teachers’ English knowledge is quite weak, the grammar and vocabulary as well, honourable expections. Project tasks are often not life-like, most students don’t like these and try to get them from friends in higher grades. Lectures and seminars are mostly very boring because a bigger part of the teachers is just talking without asking students to give feedback. Of course, not all teachers are like this because there are angels as well who do their best.
Most positives are given by hard-working, clever and experienced students who try to give as much help and information as possible. I would say they are the heart of this school and they are the people who organize nice events and make the student life good.
The English program is very international there are Asian, African and middle-eastern students as well.
I would not recommend this university at all.
If this time I spent and will spend here will help me build my career it will be only because of the friends I make here however it is easier to find a job with a degree.
So all together the school should improve its communication and should provide more language training for its teachers.
There are a few good possibilities and opportunities. Also some helpful and talented teachers. Interesting subjects but still too much theory and less practice which would be crucial for my profession. There should be more self-improvement courses and better guidelines for the students about some important procedures, especially when they get accepted by the university. Career building is not the worst but there is always room to improve.
View moreGenerally speaking, the classes were okay, some of them not really catered to the student’s interests but since its an economy school you have various types of courses over the years. I really enjoyed the marketing, hotel and catering management and language classes with the professors I’ve had.
The reason for it not being good is mostly lies within the system. If you have any requests from the school it takes several emails and administration office visits to get what you need usually pretty last minute.
Before Covid the student life was actually fun, smaller parties every week, bigger ones every other week, some extra programmes but after 2021 it went downhill.
In Hungary I don’t think you can get better options for studying tourism, to be honest, I think the problem is in the Hungarian educational system.
After finishing University I think I have gained a few things, liked some classes but in the future, I want to try out another university programme in a different country.
I believe that the Budapest Business School was a good choice for me. The structure of the program and the courses are well arranged and I believe that in terms of content they provide a high level of knowledge for the students. What the school could improve is the way they handle the administration. Having a degree from this university gives you a good head start for your career in Hungary for sure, but in my experience the graduates from BBS are known as well-qualified candidates in other European countries as well.
