I finished an integrated master’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering. The only good thing I have to say about the programme is that the academic level of the degree is pretty high. But every other aspect of academic life is terrible. Labs are understaffed and lack supplies and the classrooms and buildings are very old, dirty and in many places destroyed to the point that they might be dangerous. It is a very rare case that a professor will be a good person that actually cares about his/her job. Finding opportunities to continue your career after your degree is something you have to do on your own and none will assist you or provide paths for you. Overall, achieving my degree was a very difficult and exhausting journey and if I could summarize it I would say “It’s not worth it”. There are other schools in the University and other Universities in Greece and Europe that might share some problems with my school but at least there are people working there that actually love their work and want to cooperate with the students to build their future together and improve the science.
