The feeding system of the University of Macedonia is unacceptable. The process of acquiring a food card is time-consuming, unnecessarily, as the bureaucracy of the University is enormous, of course, without giving the cards to all students. More specifically, food cards are given in “special categories” without taking into account the student’s family or individual income. For example, a student with two siblings and a family income of € 40,000 may have free food as opposed to a sister-less student with an annual income of less than 2,000 euros, which may even be from another city. So low-income students are forced to pay 3.5 euros to eat a dish, quality is not the best, while high-income students and their parents in the city can eat for free at the club.
