I honestly have mixed feelings about my UNI.
The campus is big and spacious, green and beautiful. It is also in the centre of Thessaloniki. I like the fact that even though its big everything is in walking distance! You can walk from building to building and from library to library… You also meet amazing people walking as well!
I don’t like the fact that on campus there are some people non-UNI-related if you know what I mean… Trying to sell illegal substances and, as a result, it’s not the safest of places to walk to alone at night… that’s sad
Facilities-wise its OK-keep in mind that Greece is suffering from economic crises-
All in all, I would recommend Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. The city is beautiful and the weather is great
A solid syllabus containing most of the necessary background knowledge for a Mathematician to teach, do research either on pure Mathematics or on interdisciplinary fields. The professors are mostly approachable and willing to help. The undergraduate programme is mainly in Greek. It is one of the easiest buildings to approach in the campus. The mathematical background provided through the courses is strong but the application of the theoretical tools studied in real world problems is not given immediately during the lessons in most cases.
