Overall, I like it. I believe that the quality of the lessons would be much better if our facilities were improved! To be more specific, it is unacceptable that most of the library’s plugs are broken or not working.

Too many technical essays to write, not enough lab infrastructure or hands on experience. Its a great opportunity to get in touch with a variety of like-minded people, make friends and professional connections that will surely help you down the road. There is also a vast number of different courses provided that will only give you basic skills and the way to follow if you wanna learn more. All in all, nobody is gonna help you personally. If you like a particular subject and wanna learn more about it, you gotta be willing to work on it on your own. In other words, university is not like school. It just shows you the way, and in that NTUA succeeds.

It was my first choice. I knew from the first day of high school that i wanted to be a student of mechanical engineering at NTUA, and i wouldn’t change it for the world. Great subjects, great teaching staff and overall a great experience. I would love it if it had better organisation

Very hard material, too much work from home, not very well organised, nice place but most rooms very old. Offers free lunch and dinner, has a lot of international relations and offers good opportunities.

Most of the teachers are excellent and the classes are well balanced, except the 4th and 5th semesters where there is too much workload. The career prospects are really good because we have a bachelor degree with an integrated master. Especially, the Sector of Industrial Management and Operational Research (Industrial Engineering) is very close to companies and has contacts with professionals. The NTUA has a really good reputation and that eases the job research.

The National Technical University of Athens is one of Greece’s top institutions. Its Mechanical Engineering degree is a 5-year program that incorporates many Master level courses and students take specializations. Regarding its academic level, most of the courses are top notch and taught by very experienced professors delving into research. Its location is in the outskirts of Athens but very much easily accessible with public transportation. Its facilities on campus are average, but many amenities are not very well maintained.

Positives:
– Very high absorption.
– Versatile knowledge that will be very useful in the later professional career.
– Excellent level of students.
– Many different directions to find the field you really like.

Negatively:
– Poor facilities.
Excessively busy curriculum for the first 3 years.
– Few laboratories in relation to respective schools abroad.

The National Technical University of Athens is located in Zografou, a municipality where many university students live. The campus, on the one hand is full of trees which helps you to relax and detach from the courses but on the other hand the appearance of the buildings is not so good due to the political parties and mainly to the posters that they stick on them. The university offers you a wide variety of extracurricular activities since there is a fully equipped gym, an acting team, a music team etc.There are many associations and technical projects which help you to connect with people that have the same interests as you and to implement the knowledge that you gain in the university.
The Mechanical Engineering faculty gives you the opportunity to study most of the fields that a Mechanical Engineer is interested in. Most of the professors are more than welcome to answer all your questions even outside the class. Many of them have published a lot of papers and have achieved great renown and good reputation even outside Europe.

The university that I study is the National Technological University of Athens. At first, it must be said that it provides general and specific knowledge to the students. Also this knowledge is not given only in theoretical form but in practice also (workshops, projects etc). The university also provides useful tools like software, 3d printers and books. It includes a library, a gym and a restaurant so it easy for the students to have what they need during their daily life. In the end, one of the most important things to say is that studies in this university are free.
