The high demand for doctors led the university to structure its medical program based on the current issues about maternal and child health and general cases of predominant diseases such as malaria, cholera, typhoid etc. Doctors produced by the university have always had a personal relationship with the local people and are capable of speaking a language that could be understood by the local people. Learning in the medical school of the university is based on current research conducted in the field of medicine.
