I attended the at the time new B.A. programme “Modern China” at the University of Wuerzburg department of Sinology. Overall I was very happy with the programme and it has since served me well in my career. The focus was clearly on cultural and linguistic studies, which helped to understand and tackle Chinese culture and business practices. The teaching staff was highly qualified and handled the transition from a scientific style of teaching to a broader education very well. They were always open to feedback and were working with the students. The only thing that was lacking were practical business skills or more hands on knowledge to support a career in the long run. However, from what I understand this has since been adjusted. I personally had a great time of growth and personal development and I would recommend this programme to anyone aiming at a career involving China.
