The Friedensau Adventist University is the world’s second largest Christian school system. The institution is run and operated by the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Germany. For a hundred years of history, educated people from this university made their responsibility for humanity through mission work and developed cooperation in many countries. Their goal is to enable individuals their responsibilities with the church, society and their country.
The Friedensau Adventist University was founded in 1899 with a centuries old mill as their first school. The next ten years then emerged a larger school building and living quarters. Today, after receiving the status of a state recognized university following a resolution from the DDR Council of Ministers, they are now offering a Diploma in Theology. They also offer a preparatory course for musical studies. They are the first institution to offer a concentration in Adventist Studies. The Music Therapy degrees started in 2011 and there are approximately 200 full-time students registered in both faculties.
