Tbilisi State Medical University (TSMU) is a reputable institution with a long history, offering wide range of medical programs in english or georgian making it accessible to international students. It has modern facilities and a diverse student body, but language barriers and administrative challenges can be issues for some students. It’s a good option for affordable and recognized medical education by WHO but graduates may face additional steps to practice in certain countries such as the UK,US or canada if you would be planning to go for the european program.However, there is a US program as well which prepares you for the future usmlee exams that you would have to give but is more costly than the european program. Do check that whatever university you’re applying to is accredited and recognized . Overall, TSMU is a solid choice for those seeking a global medical education experience

TSMU is a pretty good university. But one drawback is the fact that you don’t get hands on experience with cadavers since its not legal in georgia to use cadavers.
The professors are great and can speak english so language barrier isn’t much of a concern.

TSMU’s EuMD program is structured in a way which allows students to afford sufficient amount of time to focus on maintaining their academics while also being able to achieve overall holistic development.

This university is honestly a great pick for anyone looking to do medicine at an affordable rate. Quality of education is great too! Wonderful country with great people and the degree is accredited worldwide.

I’m doing the USMD program at TSMU. I’d say it’s a good option for those who are trying to work in the US or do their residency there. Our syllabus is the exact same as the one at Emory University in Atlanta and we have an option to do our clerkship there, provided that you pass the step exams.

A 6-year course of medicine, provided to study in more than 2 languages and in different curriculums and study plans. large possibilities for clinical practice. USMD course starts 1st year with humanitarian subjects and slowly moves into studying sciences and medical fields.

I would say that the medicine course that they provide here at Tbilisi State Medical university really great. The one thing I want my university to work on is the practical classes, we do attend surgeries and inpatient wards, but it isn’t enough in my opinion. The student life here is good and Georgia is a beautiful country and the people here are friendly.
