La Sorbonne has quite a big number of students, which is why it is divided in several campuses. The Letters Department takes place at the Boulevard Malesherbes, in the 17th arrondissement (and not in the Quartier Latin, where only the students from the 3rd year have classes).
During the first year, I studied Marcel Proust, which I loved, and French grammar – which I did not loved. The other classes were good, and I really learned a lot. All teachers were passionate, kind and dedicated to the students.
The only negative point that I would point out, would be my campus’s administration department, who weren’t very organized when it came to the problems related to our classes schedule.
I would definitely recommend this University to a friend, but only if she/he truly wants to study Letters, because otherwise, trying to figure out what the author meant by « hello » can get quite boring if you don’t know why you’re here.
La Sorbonne has a very strong history, that makes every student feel special, so don’t miss out on that opportunity !
