The Institut Français de la Mode (IFM) was founded in 1986 and is one of the French “Grandes Écoles”; it’s a higher education institution that specializes in textile, fashion, luxury and design programmes. IFM offers state-recognized post-graduate and executive programmes. The school is part of th Conférence des Grandes Ecoles and of the International Foundation of Fashion Institutes (IFFTI). The Institution was ranked number 1 worldwide for its Fashion Business Masters, and number 2 for its Fashion Design master programmes by the “Business of Fashion”. Every year, 180 students and 2000 executives attend IFM. Since 2016, IFM is allied with “École de la chambre syndicale de la couture parisienne” in order to offer a full range of courses, from vocational training to higher education, in both fashion design and fashion management, with direct connection to the fashion and textile industries. IFM provides students with the option to follow high-level postgraduate programmes on luxury management (with a choice between French and English) and design. After one year, students are equipped to take on careers in companies in the creative industry or even to set up their own companies. Because of its close link with the industry, companies value IFM student’s knowledge.
