École Polytechnique was founded in 1794 during the French revolution. In 1794, École Centrale des travaux publics was founded and was renamed École Polytechnique in 1795. It is a major engineering school competing nationally and internationally as well. The school has been ranked 13th in Best European Universities. It is strong in mathematics, physics and chemistry and train students to help them find a career in different sectors. École Polytechnique is the only one of the largest engineering schools to have both a department of mathematics and applied mathematics. There are various programs that students can choose from including biology, chemistry, economics, physics, computer science, innovation, entrepreneurship and a lot more. It has also a doctoral program and about 40% of doctoral students come from foreign countries. Very French school, people are v mean in general, closed off, 0 social life, discrimination…
I always felt excluded. As for the learning experience, it was really good. Though they don’t help much with providing internship opportunities.
