Clermont‑Ferrand is on the cheaper side compared with a lot of other French student cities, so your money goes a bit further there. When I was there I paid around 450 € for a room and spent roughly 600 € a month on food, transport and going out, so around 1,000–1,100 € total. if you want to travel around France/Europe on top of that it’s smart to budget extra.
