I studied Energy Technology at VAMK in Vaasa, and overall I had a positive experience. One of the biggest advantages of VAMK is its strong connection to industry. Vaasa is known as Finland’s energy capital, and there are many companies in the region, which makes it easier for students to find internships and gain practical work experience during their studies.
I also liked that the program focused on real-world engineering and industrial applications. The courses were relevant to the industry, and the university provided a good foundation for a career in the energy sector.
One thing I disliked was the location. Vaasa can feel a bit rural and quiet compared to larger cities, so students looking for a more active city life may find it limited.
Overall, I would definitely recommend VAMK to students interested in Energy Technology or other industrial fields. The strong industry connections, practical learning opportunities, and good internship prospects make it a great choice for building a career in engineering and energy.
