Tampere University - TUNI (reviews)

Tampere University is one of the beautiful universities I have ever seen. Although I have not seen many universities, compared to the place I come from, it is wonderful. I would wholeheartedly recommend this university. It features a blend of local and international flavours. Teachers here are friendly, and the environment is great for studying. There are numerous facilities for students, teachers, as well as researchers. However, I am a little skeptical about my program as it is new, so no one really knows what we should do after completing our degree. Other than that, I really like my program, what I study, and most importantly, with whom I study. I really enjoy the classes because of my classmates and teachers. Campus life here is effective and enjoyable. Students study a lot, but they also want to lead more fulfilling lives. There are many organisations and people to help in any situation. Ultimately, I would say I am fortunate to have the opportunity to study here.

Tampere University is a great school to study in a diverse culture and integrate with internationals and also it give you an opportunity to explore other fields of study other than your programme which lets you discover your own interest and maybe build new skills over the period of time. Also, the student culture is amazing.

When I first arrived in Tampere as an international student from a Muslim country, I was anxious and self-conscious. I often worried about being judged for my clothing or for practicing my faith. However, the open-minded and respectful environment in Tampere quickly changed my perspective. People here are focused on their own lives and give others the space to be themselves. I’ve never felt discriminated against based on my gender or religion.

There are also plenty of opportunities here. The learning environment is excellent, with good access to resources like computers and study spaces. One of my teachers has been incredibly patient and supportive in helping me with academic writing, which is something I didn’t have training in back home.

Courses are taught differently here. For example, in the SCM course, we solve real-life problems from a company’s perspective. This was again something very new to me. In the MPB course, we worked on case studies that connect directly to real-world challenges. This hands-on learning has been very effective.

Overall, I’m truly happy with my campus experience so far, and I hope the coming days will be just as rewarding. I’m currently working as an international tutor at TUNI (as a volunteer), helping guide new students. This experience has been unique and meaningful, and I’m grateful to TUNI for it.

After extensive work and research, I discovered the Science and Engineering programme at Tampere University, Finland. As a new student at Tampere University, I’ve gained valuable insights and experiences that extend beyond academics. The fuksi events offered a warm introduction to university life, fostering connections and immersing me in Finnish traditions. The modern libraries and labs on the Hervanta campus have been helpful in enhancing my academic journey, providing access to resources and hands on learning opportunities. Additionally, the variety of student events and activities has enriched my experience, encouraging personal growth, collaboration, and exploration. Tampere University has already helped me build knowledge, skills, and friendships that are shaping my future.
