I have been at this university for going on 6 years now. I must say that the experience has been overall pretty good.
The courses are a great wide range of topics that will take you through your degree. I actually did two degrees so I have experience in the Psychology and Business paths. I am also doing a master’s program in Psychology as we speak. I would say most professors are knowledgeable in their fields and are willing to put in the effort to help you learn. There are lots of opportunities for more hands-on learning experiences and group work, which is nice. I would say most classes are strict but fair. If you give effort and pay attention, you will do well.
The campus, while small, continues to grow. In my six years here, they have added a student lounge, moved the student lounge to a much bigger space, added a new floor for classes, and are working on adding another. They continue to update the facilities and capabilities over time, which is nice to see.
Students are encouraged to take part in events, foster communities, and start clubs. There are some clubs that come and go as demand shifts but it is always an avenue for students to pursue. Additionally, the university hosts a diverse cast of students from all over the world and it is likely you will meet someone that is also from your home country if you look for them.
The location is really nice and there are lots of places for students to spend time after classes such as cafes, fast food, and bars. The university has its own cafe as well.
My only negative comments are mostly directed at the administrative offices as their handling of communication of details are subpar. I would definitely solidify everything with them down to the letter before signing any contracts. Be sure what is said is also confirmed in writing to prevent miscommunication down the line. Otherwise, its fine, you dont spend much time in those offices anyways. Any other negativities I have of the university can be found in every university as well, such as a few unpopular teachers, etc, but its not anything to mark it down.
In short, its a good university with a lot to offer. If you want to study abroad. Prague is very beautiful with a fascinating history that should be better known in the world. If you wish to come to the Czech Republic, UNYP is a great choice. Teachers will put in effort for you to get the education you need and the quality of the facilities is modern and up to date.
