The university has a friendly atmosphere, you don’t feel like just a “number”. Everything works as it should in the study department, there are nice ladies who work here who are always helpful. Events are a good link between students throughout the university.

I am very satisfied with my experience at the University of Ostrava. The programme I study is well structured and academically demanding, which helps students develop both critical thinking and practical skills. One of the biggest strengths of the university is the quality of its academic staff. Many professors are highly knowledgeable in their fields, approachable, and willing to support students in their academic development.

I’m in my second year of my master’s degree in English for translation and I have nothing to complain about. My classmates, professors, and the teaching itself are all great, everyone is nice and helpful. I’ll miss it here a lot.

I would definitely highlight the professors at the Dpt of English Studies, as they were really professional and helpful. They also offered many opportunities for involvement in various project activities. I appreciated the canteen which is unfortunately not there anymore. As the campus is right in the city centre, it is easily accessible.

I adore the teachers at our department and I love how friendly they are. They always create a safe space for us to learn, communicate, and form friendship and our opinions. I appreciate how they remember our names and fun facts about us—it’s really sweet and shows that they care about us.

Thanks to OU, I can study a double major that I enjoy. The teachers know us by name and their approach to teaching creates a nice and friendly environment. The syllabus is always perfectly tailored to the specific subject and field. The departments organize great events where you can meet new people. The entire team at OU is simply great and I feel good here.

I am studying German philology, I am doing my master’s degree and I really enjoy studying at Ostrava University. I have been to Vienna to interpret, I have visited Cologne, Düsseldorf, Bonn, Frankfurt and Dresden.
The Department’s events are great, I definitely recommend the Stammtisch and Strudelabend.

Thanks to the university, I have made many friends and contacts for life. I have gained a lot of practical experience within my field and broadened my horizons thanks to everything that the university offers us. Whether it is the offer of voluntary activities or internships. I have always met with a pleasant approach when I needed advice.

German Language – I have been studying German at OSU for 4 years. The teachers are very helpful and are able to explain more complicated topics in German grammar. We are being offered multiple events abdroad and opportunities to meet new people.
