I started schooling in Near East in the year 2022, I transferred from the University of Jos in Nigeria. I studied Civil Engineering, but I changed my course to Software Engineering as I transferred. The school is very big, and the buildings are very modern. The classroom setting, the learning system and every other thing was new, exciting and easy to work with compared to my previous school. The teachers and their way of teaching was different, even if some didn’t really teach well because we had to still go back to YouTube to understand it, but that’s reasonable since it’s a university, students are supposed to study extensively. The learning system sometime has technical issues, the management rules don’t always favor the students. North Cyprus as a place doesn’t favor students when the majority of the population are students. We don’t have Job opportunities; the minimum wage keeps on increasing but it’s not favorable to international students. WE don’t receive permanent student permit; we pay for it yearly and it increases constantly. My overall review is that Near East University is a good school with a high standard of education.
