Studying at York University for my postgraduate certifications in Digital & Content Marketing and Public Relations was a decent experience. Most of the professors were experienced and professional, and I learned a lot from their insights. The assignments were practical and a great way to understand real-world applications. Plus, I made some amazing friends along the way.
The campus is huge and well-maintained, but the building I was in felt a bit disconnected from the rest of the university. The courses were helpful but could have gone deeper in certain areas to give more industry-specific knowledge.
One downside was the lack of extracurricular activities, or maybe they just didn’t do a great job letting us know about them. Opportunities for exposure outside the classroom were limited, which was a bit disappointing.
That said, the faculty and staff were always helpful and supportive, which made the experience worthwhile. If you’re looking for certifications to build your skills, York is a good choice, but there’s definitely room for improvement in creating a more engaging student life.
