I studied Global Studies at Wilfrid Laurier University, and overall, it was a rewarding experience. The program offers a diverse range of topics—from international development to political theory—and encourages critical thinking and global awareness. I particularly appreciated the approachable professors and the strong sense of community within the department.
The university provides plenty of opportunities to get involved, both academically and socially. I was able to lead student associations, engage in research, and access support services when needed. However, I think the school could improve by offering more hands-on learning or co-op options in arts and social science programs.
If you’re looking for a medium-sized university with a strong sense of community, solid academics, and opportunities to grow through extracurriculars, Laurier is a great choice.
