One of the highlights is the residence life, particularly in traditional dorms, which provides an excellent opportunity to make lasting friendships and enjoy the quintessential dorm experience you often see in movies. Beyond residence, Western’s social culture stands out—with exciting events like Homecoming (Hoco), Orientation Week (OWeek), and a variety of clubs fostering connections and memories.

Academically, Western is home to some exceptional programs, particularly the renowned Ivey Business School. Its 2 2 model allows students to spend their first two years in a program of their choice and apply to Ivey for their final two, resulting in an Honours Business Administration degree. The collaborative classroom environment at Ivey, with intelligent peers and a strong sense of community, enhances the learning experience. For those interested, a dual degree program is also available for broader academic pursuits.

That said, like any large institution, there are areas for improvement. Facilities such as the gym and campus clinics often face long waits, which can be frustrating for students. Some lecture halls and classrooms would benefit from being smaller to allow for more interactive and hands-on learning opportunities.
