I initially began my journey in the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program but later transitioned to Political Science with a specialization in Legal Studies and Research. This switch allowed me to explore my academic interests more deeply, and I’ve genuinely enjoyed the content and critical discussions within my courses.

The smaller campus community fosters strong connections among students, faculty, and staff, creating a welcoming and supportive environment. However, this closeness can sometimes feel limiting, as the atmosphere may become repetitive over time. Despite this, the university provides ample opportunities for growth and involvement, from extracurricular activities to meaningful interactions with professors.

Overall, Laurier strikes a great balance for those who value close connections and engaging academic programs. While the experience may not be for everyone, it’s a fantastic choice for those looking for a smaller, community-focused university.

The Professor’s ability to work under various difficult circumstances during the pandemic created challenging working environments. However, they were able to create prosperous opportunities for me and my classmates, making the overall experience rather enjoyable and enlightening.

I am currently finishing up my third year at Wilfrid Laurier University as a political science major. One thing I love about my program is the sense of community it provides. Because Laurier has a smaller student body population, it is a lot easier to meet people in your program and develop academic relationships with them. I have found that this in itself has helped me to do better in my program, as well as has created many opportunities for me.
