I feel like there is a lot of travelling on campus just to reach classes, which is somewhat of a concern at certain times.
I feel like the university can actually improve the lifestyle of students by working on improving the transportation.

UBC is dedicated to going into the depth of learning of each of the courses it offers. This is something I admire as this helps me get to understand the concepts deeper and better.
Depth of course content also helps navigate real-life scenarios better.

I am a first-year undergrad at UBC Vancouver planning to major in Computer Science.
At university, I had the opportunity to take a wide range of classes and explore different subjects, which can help me discover new passions and career paths. UBC also gives the chance to participate in extracurricular activities, such as clubs and organizations, which can help me develop leadership skills and make new friends.

Living on campus is a unique and enriching experience. I had the opportunity to live with my peers, learn to manage time and finances, and become more independent.

I have never regretted my decision to come to UBC! I enjoyed my time here and continue to do so Here are some of the points that I wanted to bring attention to during my undergrad time:
Organized professors. This may be a result of my luck, but the professors here are exceptionally good. Some are underwhelming, whereas some simply lack the tenured background, but a lot of these professors are spectacular. They definitely make you work for it, but if you have a good working mindset, this shouldn’t be an issue for you!
The campus! Literally one of the most beautiful campuses in the world! This campus is quite a maze of various architecture for you to see if you want to just go exploring. These buildings are a must-see!
The big thing I disliked was the Workload. The workload here is insane at times. It’s hard to keep a social life during your time at UBC. It will pay off for sure, but it becomes quite disheartening at times to have to turn down your friends’ party invitations and say goodbye to any hobbies that you may have. Some courses are extremely dense with material, while others are simply just difficult, no matter what, you will spend a lot of time studying, which definitely isn’t for everyone.

The computer science program at UBC is pretty comprehensive, throughout your experience, you should have a general understanding of most languages, dependent on your specialization, and the professors are very knowledgeable. The classes are very rigid, though, so little flexibility on anything.

One of the best computer science programs in Canada, with a diverse group of students and a lot of great professors. Your experience depends on how much effort you put in, but the beautiful architecture at the university of British Columbia helps.
