Despite the majority of my university career happening during the covid pandemic, my professors rose to the occasion and provided an exceptional and unique educational experience. However, the university institution fell short. My residence experience was horrendous and felt more like a $5000 prison than a university residence. The cafeteria was advertised as having exceptional food and being open 24/7 yet it closed at 9 pm and was often undercooked. The residence association kept students in their rooms and we were only allowed to socialize without roommates. Despite the pandemic conditions that may have called for this securitization of residence, one would expect a refund if this were the necessary course of events, yet no refund was seen. Thus we were all cheated out of upwards of $10,000 that we will never get back.
