In my opinion, I love my time at Trent and the Peterborough area. It is a small school, which allows you to connect with your professors much easier. The majority of the professor has been really intuitive and genuinely great teachers. But, there are many that still struggle to connect with students. There are also a multitude of negatives I personally have struggled with since being at Trent. One huge issue is the housing crisis and the ability to find housing. Trent University has accepted more students into the school than ever seen before without the housing infrastructure to support the huge student intake. The prices of food on campus are also a huge issue that I have seen actually expressed to cafeteria cooks, who have absolutely no control over the pricing of the food. In conclusion, Trent’s main benefit is the people associated with the University, the people that care for the students and are personable with the students. But, there are many systemic issues that those beautiful people cannot change.
