Saint Mary’s University (reviews)

The university is a mix of modern and old! Some buildings may look older from the outside but when you enter them it is more modern and equipped with really new technology!

Classes are usually smaller which was better for me because you have a closer relationship with your professors.

I liked the way that my classes were held and all my faculty were really nice and hands-on. I learned a lot. I think it was a great place to start. Nice campus, cozy. The facilities are nice and lots of outdoor space. You can live on campus on not even have to go out outside in the winter!

I transferred here from Dalhousie, half way through my Bachelor of Commerce degree. It is lightyears better at Saint Mary’s. The class sizes are smaller, you get to know your professors more, and the quality of education is much higher.

Saint Mary’s University offers a unique blend of academic excellence and community engagement. As a master’s student in applied psychology, I’ve been impressed by the faculty’s dedication to student success. Professors are approachable and responsive, even during virtual learning, making it easy to connect for research discussions or course clarifications. The vibrant student body fosters a sense of belonging, and Halifax itself adds to the charm with its bustling boardwalks and cozy coffee shops perfect for study sessions. While the administration could improve its outdated class registration system, the staff is always helpful in resolving issues. For students seeking a smaller university with a strong sense of community, Saint Mary’s is an excellent choice
