Academically, Western is home to some exceptional programs, particularly the renowned Ivey Business School. Its 2 2 model allows students to spend their first two years in a program of their choice and apply to Ivey for their final two, resulting in an Honours Business Administration degree. The collaborative classroom environment at Ivey, with intelligent peers and a strong sense of community, enhances the learning experience. For those interested, a dual degree program is also available for broader academic pursuits.

That said, like any large institution, there are areas for improvement. Facilities such as the gym and campus clinics often face long waits, which can be frustrating for students. Some lecture halls and classrooms would benefit from being smaller to allow for more interactive and hands-on learning opportunities. However, plenty of resources are available to students who take the initiative to seek them out.

The Business Management and Organizational Studies program at Western University provides you with a broad experience within the business sector of the world. Offering different subsectors you can specialize it, for me it honestly has given me a broad view of everything business. I appreciate that it lets us get a view of everything that business has to offer, with a diverse range of classes that I have to take, however I would like more specialization within the classes at least during the early years, as I have learned about things like Organizational Behaviour and Business Law, when I am not necessarily interested in those sides of business.

I started my academic career at Western University back in September 2020. To say it was the right decision is an understatement, when first starting my first year of studies it was a bit hard to adjust and balance both academic and campus life, especially dealing with the pandemic at the time it was slow and not fun as a start. Once heading into my 2nd year and as the campus started to reopen it was astonishing how amazing the community is and how easy it was to meet new people and engage with similar-minded individuals. experiencing campus life also taught me many skills that can benefit me in my future endeavours such as networking, communications and consumer behaviours. I would recommend to any to look into pursuing a program at Western. #goMustangs!

The university is very inclusive. I like that people from all walks of life and races are in UWO. I don’t like the fact that graduate students don’t have accommodation on campus and have to seek accommodation off-campus which is quite hectic.

I am currently enrolled in the BMOS program at Western University pursuing the Finance Specialization. My overall experience has been rewarding and I feel that I have learned a lot throughout the courses I have taken. The student experience at Western is one of the main reasons I chose to go to this school and it has lived up to my expectations. I feel very included at this school and I am able to have fun while maintaining relationships and school work.

I enjoyed the focus of my program in regards to what I’m looking toward doing later in my career. The student life is amazing and the connections you make are invaluable. Student help is available but tends to be busy unless you schedule appointments weeks in advance. The professors are strong and for the most part, very accommodating. Overall, I’m enjoying my university experience and am planning to stay and study here until I graduate.
