I am doing the Cloud Data Management program at Conestoga College and overall it was a good experience, especially for students who want practical, hands-on learning. The program focuses heavily on real-world tools like SQL, database administration, cloud platforms, and data engineering concepts. I appreciated that many courses were lab-based, which helped me build technical confidence rather than just theoretical knowledge.

Some professors were very knowledgeable and had industry experience, which made the classes more practical and relevant to the job market. The assignments were often aligned with real-world scenarios, which I found valuable.

However, the program is quite fast-paced and sometimes feels compressed. There is a lot of content to cover in a short time, so students need to be prepared to do significant self-study. Not all courses are equally structured, and the quality can vary depending on the instructor.

Overall, I would recommend this program to students who are self-motivated, technically curious, and ready to put in extra effort outside of class. It provides a strong technical foundation, but your success depends largely on how much additional practice and learning you are willing to do on your own.

I enrolled in and graduated from the college’s Television Media Broadcasting course in 2019. It was an overall positive experience, and I think it prepared me well for the field. I’m not sure if it has changed since then, but I can pretty well assume it hasn’t changed dramatically since.

Teachers were always very nice and willing to hear the students out. Very flexible with our ideas, and made us feel like we could come to them for help. The college also gave us access to a very nice-looking studio with which to conduct episodes of Conestoga Connected.

I studied the Software Engineering Technician program at Conestoga College’s Doon Campus from 2017 to 2019, and it was a great experience. The program covered everything I needed to start a career in software, including hands-on courses in databases and software architecture, which were my favorites.
The professors really cared about helping students succeed. They were always there to answer questions and guide us when we needed extra help. One of the best parts was working on a capstone project in my final semester. I worked with one of my professors on a real-world project and got to present it at the end. It was a great experience and prepared me for working in the field.
The campus itself was nice, with lots of activities for students. As an international student, I felt supported and part of a welcoming community. The sports center was a great place to relax and stay active. After I graduated, the program moved to the new Waterloo campus, which I’ve heard has even better facilities.
Within a month of graduating, I got a job at a local software company, so I can say the program really helped me get where I am today. The only downside was that sometimes things like administration were a bit slow, but overall, I’d recommend Conestoga to anyone looking to start a career in software engineering.

I believe the web development program is great, as it allows students to learn about project management, SEO, mobile app development, and everything in between, providing more career options. It could be even better if students had a co-op term to gain practical experience, especially for international students.

In terms of the campus, the Milton campus is the worst. It has barely any facilities aside from the classrooms—no gym, no accommodations, It’s unfair, especially since we all pay the same tuition.

For me, the course was mediocre at best. I was expecting a little bit more from them, but the expectations were not matched. My course was Mobile Solutions Development as I am interested in making mobile applications. And I barely learnt anything from the curriculum. They taught me C# to make console applications. For first semester, there was iOS subject and for second semester there was Android subject. Rest of the subjects were irrelevant. And the level of education was way below what was the minimum requirement to get into the market. But hey, that’s just my take on it.
