I’m currently studying the Accounting Diploma at Douglas College, and it has been a great experience so far. The program is very practical and career-oriented, with courses that cover everything from financial reporting and taxation to accounting software like Sage and QuickBooks.
The instructors are experienced professionals who explain complex topics clearly and are always willing to help outside of class. I also appreciate the small class sizes, which make it easier to ask questions and engage in discussions.
Douglas College offers strong academic support, including tutoring and career services, which help you feel more confident as you prepare for the CPA pathway or enter the job market.
I would definitely recommend this program to anyone interested in building a solid foundation in accounting with real-world applications.
View moreMy experience at Douglas college has been largely positive. The professors are knowledgeable and bring real-world case studies into the classroom, which makes the lessons engaging. The course structure is well-organized and covers both theoretical and practical elements of international business, which I found very valuable.
One thing I appreciated most was the diversity in the classroom—students came from different cultural and professional backgrounds, which enriched discussions and group projects. The school also provides useful career resources and networking events that helped me prepare for the Canadian job market.
That said, I do think there’s room for improvement in administrative support, especially for international students. Sometimes communication regarding program changes or policy updates wasn’t as timely or clear as it could have been.
Overall, it’s a great institution for students looking to build a career in global business. I would recommend it to others, especially those who are proactive and eager to learn in a multicultural environment.
Douglas College is a quality option if you are looking for a lower cost education. Small class sizes allow for more interaction with professors, and the transfer options to UBC and SFU make it a smart stepping stone. The campuses are convenient but can be congested, and while student services helpful, they can be slow. If you want a practical, inexpensive education at a quality school with good support, Douglas is it!

What’s resonating the most? high quality of interactions with students through interesting simulations , challenging and difficult games in which we compete. It’s about diving deep into the strategies and understanding the nuances behind them. This approach makes every class feel like an interactive session rather than a standard lecture. Another sense of community is another aspect I’m truly enjoying is community spirit that is charming.
