Brock is ok not bad but I haven’t been on campus really ever to experience the full campus experience so it’s hard to judge. If I had a full campus experience I feel like I would feel better and have more of a kinship with the universityView more
Brock University is located in a wonderful environment, and the campus is incredibly stunning. It provides pretty much everything you could possibly need on campus, as well as strong bus and coach connections and is only a bus ride away from Norwich railway station. I don’t have much experience with student support programs, but I’ve heard nice things about them from friends. The university did a wonderful job with COVID prevention, with immunizations and free testing accessible on campus. It’s obvious that it’s a corporation at times, and it could do with remembering that its first focus should be on its students and staff rather than earning money for the VC, but I’m pleased here and wouldn’t alter my mind.View more
The library is great. It has 10 floors and offers a lot of areas to study independently or in groups.
Some of the professors that I have met are really nice and knowledgeable about the course that they are teaching. However, the nursing program does have 2 or 3 professors that are extremely hard graders and/or have no idea what they are talking about.
There is a lack of organization, especially when arranging clinical sites for students. Expectations are also unclear and if you have a question, it is hard to get a straight answer for it.View more
I really enjoyed my program of Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Brock University. I found the program offered a diverse selection of courses and practical clinical experiences to integrate theoretical nursing knowledge into clinical practice. I also found the professors very intelligent in their field of expertise and very kind and receptive to student needs and assistance. On the other hand, found the program integrated too many similar nursing-communication courses that could have been better replaced with more nursing-specific theory or practice experiences. Additionally, I found the nursing administrative department difficult to communicate with, as they were not supportive and rarely available to attend to students’ needs and inquiries.View more
Brock University is a publicly funded institution research institution that was founded in 1964. Located in St. Catharines, Ontario, a city with just over 140,000 residents, and a student population of approximately 19,000, Brock is a home away from home for those studying there. With it being at the centre of Canada’s Niagara Peninsula on the Niagara Escarpment, it is a perfect locale for nature lovers as it is the only university in Canada that is situated in a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. The university offers Adult Education programs at the Certificate and Bachelor levels, including a certificate in Aboriginal Adult Education and a Bachelor of Aboriginal Adult Education. I pursued the Bachelor of Education in Adult Education program. Due to the fact that I had a prior degree, I was able to transfer ten courses to the program, which resulted in my only needing to complete five courses to earn my degree at Brock. As someone who was working full-time while pursuing my studies, I appreciated the flexibility that the program afforded me as their courses were offered on weekends. The courses were also very interesting and highly relevant to my field of study. The professors possessed a breadth of knowledge and skills which they brought with them to the classroom, along with their passion for teaching. The program is highly respected within the adult education community, and I was able to obtain a teaching position shortly after graduation. As a result of my positive experiences and successes in the program, it gave me the confidence to pursue an adult education program at the graduate level later on.View more
Each class I had throughout my term was led by inclusive professors that were understanding, fair, and were able to compromise and extend due dates for their students’ benefit. The first week of my university experience was exceptional, with tons of inclusive activities led by dons to allow students to gain a sense of comfort when first moving out. I would recommend this school to others as my positive experience allowed for personal and academic growth. The classes were challenging yet the professors were flexible with assignments and tests preparing students for success. The school does have tons of international students allowing individuals from across the world to attend. Two of my roommates in the first year were international which allowed me to gain a deeper cultural appreciation. Each program provides students with possible career opportunities in the summer and provides them with options for post-grad careers. Overall this university created an inclusive and fulfilling experience for my first year and I know will do the same for prospective students.View more
Overall, this school has a beautiful campus and a good environment to have when you want to learn, students around you are focused and everyone you meet is nice and willing to help. Some classes need a lot more focus I recommend taking biostats, organic chem and anything that seems very hard to take in the spring and summer if they are available.View more
I have enjoyed every bit of my first year at Brock University, ON. It has taught me how to be more out-spoken, career-oriented and independent. Brock has one of the best Omni Libraries which helps you with research papers/peer-reviewed journals/tests/exams. There is a vast diversity of people coming from different backgrounds and cultures which helps you network with a plethora of individuals. Overall, I have been mind-blown with what this university has offered me and will be offering me and the others to succeed in achieving their degrees from this honourable university.View more
